I am becoming increasingly confused by how the AMCAS is supposed to calculate GPA with regards to study abroad. I've checked other threads, but it isn't helping.
If I took classes at a study abroad program that is not affiliated with a US program, those grades aren't supposed to count as far as I understand.
However, the grades I got in these foreign classes are listed on my US undergrad transcript in a special section. This is because my undergrad received the grades, but does not use them to calculate GPA.
I received non-department credit for these courses, meaning I just got 6 "credits" but they don't qualify for any department, and as far as the grades are weighted for GPA purposes, they count as 0 credits.
Does this mean the foreign coursework should be calculated in my GPA or not?
