Foreign medical school

A good friend of mine will graduate from foreign medical school this year, and he was wondering if it would be possible for him to get an internal medicine residency here in the United States. Is there any chance? Also, does he need to take US board test before applying for the residency?

It's definitely possible because internal medicine isn't all that competitive. What medical school?

Definitely a chance. His english skills and step scores will need to be quite good for him/her to be competitive though. Apply VERY broadly. Good luck to him/her
