Hi im a foreign educated PT looking to get a license in CA. The state board site says that I shouldnt register for the exam at the FSBPT site until I get a "written confirmation" from them.. I'm just wondering how long the application processing would usually take (how long before i know im eligible to take the npte) and if the confirmation comes in the mail or do they e-mail it to me? Thanks.

If it is a "written confirmation", im assuming it will be mailed to you. From the automated voice message that you have you listen to every time you call them, it takes about 6-8 weeks to process. Cali board definitely doesn't have the best customer service so I feel your pain. Keep going at it.

thanks for the reply. I emailed them regarding the processing duration and all they told me was it'll take a little more than thirty days. I sent in my application a week ago I kinda got confused with the 30 day acknowledgement statement. But the 6-8 weeks youre referring to would start from when my application arrived in their office right? Sorry if I have a lot of questions I dont know anyone in the PT field here. I'm planning to take it this April, I'm praying it finishes on time.

I called them today as well and they told me it takes 30 days for the application to process. If you sent it in last week, you'll be fine. It's time for you to focus on the exam =). Good luck

Thank you very much for all the help! I guess it's time for me to continue hitting the books. Good luck in San Diego as well! 😉
