Here we go, I initially posted that I was accepted for two research internships, one dealing with neuro-stuff, the other more quantitative; and that I would be going for the wet neuro lab. Guess what? My acceptance was rescinded because I was a non-US citizen/resident, but when I applied I filled a big fat "FOREIGN STUDENT" in my forms! I just e-mailed them back that I understood their decision. But they downed my hopes in the bottle, and sealed it tight.
So I am trying to get myself back into the quantitative/simulation lab , I will soon be "reinstated" for the summer. Many thanks to God, as well as the ties of my prof with the PI in the lab!
But the lesson is "never say 'no' until you are sure in the middle of your pants (well how do I explain pants?)
Being an F-1 student is pretty tough. Only the courageous really make it through---I just began to think of it in the bus on my way home on Friday.

Yes, my friend, you're right.

Sorry you had to find out this way. Believe me when I tell you I know exactly how you feel. I'm glad it worked out for you, though.

Let me know if you ever need any advice. Stay strong.
