I recently read something on Forensic Podiatry and I am wondering if anyone else has heard anything on it. What is the procedure to become certified as a forensic podiatrist? Is it a fellowship you complete after residency? I assume it's fairly new. Any info you know of is appreciated, thanks

well it is a new topic....but not a new concentration....forensic podiatry has been going on for years. When i was in grad school my graduate research was on forensic gait anaylsis...blew my professors away. I'm sure they have some sort of fellowship thing somewhere for it, but you really should have a investigative background also. If you want to know specifics PM me..and i can tell you more.

I ran across this website a year or two ago while I was looking for something else. There is a society of forensic podiatrists, and their website is here: http://theasfp.org/default.aspx You can join the society as a student, resident, or active member. It seems like the group is pretty small.
