hey guys:

thanks a lot for your inspiring words the other day when i was freaking out, the next day i took the form 1 CBSSA and got about 500 so i know i'm going to pass! that made me feel so much better, i highly encourage anyone who's freaking out to take one of the self-assessments from the NBME because the peace of mind is so worth $45!

also, i have noticed that the closer it gets to the boards, the more i am forgetting how to write, absentmindedly spelling things incorrectly, tripping over things, forgetting what i am doing in the middle of doing it, forgetting the simple names of everyday objects. anyone else notice that studying for the boards makes you lose your mind?
it's like i'm losing happy memories of my childhood and replacing them with letterer-siwe histiocytosis X, and chediak higashi defect and garbage like that.
all i can say is this stuff better be on the freaking test!

Same things happen to me. I'm constantly looking at words (simple ones) wondering if they are spelled right. Called my gf the other day and left her a message saying "I hope you are having a good day at work," but IT WAS SUNDAY and she only works M-F. I guess the day of the week doesn't matter when your locked away studying all 7 of them.

It will be over soon and hopefully my "mind" returns soon after.

I know what you mean. Last week I drove around with my gas cap hanging on the side of my car because I forgot to close the lid plus I was listening to Goljan with my headphones while driving . Some guy at a stop light closed the gas lid, knocked on the driver's side window and flirted with me....I was chanting knuckle, knuckle, dimple, knuckle outloud. I felt so embarrassed.

good luck allison. :luck:

kind of random, but i thought it was illegal to drive while listening to headphones? just wondering...i know hands free cell phones are OK but they only cover one ear.

i think it is illegal but still - i'd totally be doing it with goljan too if i didn't have an iPod and an iTrip! (well worth the money, by the way)

desperate times call for desperate measures, as long as you're not playing it deafeningly loud.

It is illegal but shows how desperate I am. Still, you can't get pulled over for it as a primary offense. Now if I was swerving or speeding then the headphones could be used against me.
