So I was looking back at my AMCAS application and I realized I omitted a somewhat important activity in my activities section. I've been spending summers as an assistant in my dad's medical practice since 2006 until now. It added up to a crazy amount of hours and I think I accidentally deleted it without realizing it until now.

I mentioned working in my dad's office a little bit on my essay and in some secondaries, as well as on the "what are you doing during your gap year?" essay.

Is it too late to tell the schools? Should I just wait to tell the interviewers during an interview (that is, if I get an interview)? Would it sound weird if I mentioned it during an interview since it's not explicitly listed on the app? I can't believe I did this! It was such a big part of my shadowing experiences

:scared: :scared: :scared:

IMO, you should email each school that you applied to with a supplemental letter adding that experience in.

Ok I'll be sure to do that. Do you think it would look strange that I submitted my AMCAS at the end of June and I'm mentioning this now?

Yes. But you have to choose the lesser of two evils in this situation.

You may have mentioned it more than enough already. It may not be a good idea to initiate a communication just to mention it for what, perhaps in some cases, is the fourth time.

It's possible that rather than be impressed by this consistent activity over so many years, some may see it as a negative and wonder why you didn't arrange to do something else on your own.

Hmm, those are good points too. It's good food for thought. I guess since I've mentioned it in other places it may end up being pointless to reiterate it. I'll have to think about it some more. Thanks for your help!
