very well said.. i think this AG just had too much research experiment like questions on them that made it hard for me who didn't take much Bio..

btw, so you took AG last year and it's similar again this year, would there be any likelihood that if I take it in August again and get an A_ form again? Or do they computer arrange everyone to specific rooms so they don't have the same test forms? Cos if I'm getting AG again in August, that'd be sweet... how does these many forms work anyways? cos an earlier poster in this thread says all the As are same questions and different order?

i think its a testing center/regional thing. last year at our philly site, the proctor told me afterwards that everyone had either AG or BG. so i'm guessing each site just gets a couple of diff test forms but if u take it at the same place next time, that doesn't guarantee they'd get AG distributed to them again, most probably not. it'd probably b 2-3 other test forms (not AG). i'm guessing that aamc looks like they r making the BS section more analytical and less rote memorization of systems of the body, etc - that is, if this is a consistent trend. this would make it harder - esp if u have do not have an analytical mind (esp when time is limited and u just spent half a day working on other sections and r tired) - and i think it def gives ppl who do have an analytical mind or have alot of research experience an advantage cuz u don't have 2 waste time thinking, "wtf r they trying 2 do with that in the experiment" cuz u either already know or r familiar with sth familiar 2 it. last year i almost died when i had a whole passage on western blots (which is what i mostly do at work) and the question was sth like 'what species would u make the secondary antibody?' - my boss thought that was hilarious cuz if anyone couldn't answer a question like that at work, they wouldn't stay in our lab long. at least i felt that my heavy research background was what made this the easiest of the 3 sections 4 me (i got a 13) - even though i was sick, i finished the BS in half the time and checked it over 3 times (being OCD) b4 i got bored and decided to let it be - and this isn't saying cuz i'm crazy a** smart, just that the questions were all experiment based and being a researcher, this def made those q's easier 4 me since i could just cruise on autopilot instead of having 2 think about the right answer.

i do think that i heard last year that all As, Bs, etc r pretty much the same test for each letter just the Q's might be in a different order.

People, people, calm down. Knowing the right answer won't change your answer if you got it wrong. You can't change it now, so if you shouldn't worry about something you can't control. And most times, one question is not going to make or break you. Chances are, you may have gotten the nylon question wrong, but got another one that teh person who got they nylon got right. So just wait until you scores come out in 8 weeks.

I think it's just the ramblings of the nervous and anxious... myself included. I gotta try to stop looking at these Form threads.

I think it is prudent to figure out the answers to questions while they are fresh on our minds. We can learn from our mistakes and do better on the next MCAT incase we have to take it again. :scared:

But do you think that we can retake and still get into a top 10?

I am not saying that it is a bad idea- I probably will retake it too. I am just wondering how it looks. Sorry!

oh don't worry, i know you were just asking.. i'm just stating it light-heartedly too~ 🙄
yeah.. good luck to us!

p.s. anyone has positive stats on this, please post!

Never heard of .... What is it anyways? Are we supposed to know that???
😕

i guess ....

yeah like the other poster said, i hope this is not a trend that the MCAT is going to be focused on more analytical experiments!... it's going to be hard to prepare for this section then!

I got EDIT. You just have to use the M1V1 formula. There's no need to convert from mL to L, they cancel out.

Please tell me it was EDIT... That is what I guessed at the last second without time for calculating the answer.

Question! How come there are so many AG people, when all the other posts on other forms have anywhere from 2-12 posters? A bit bewildered.

I didn't have AG, I had AP, but the forms were essentially identical. This just seems to be a popular form discussion.

i got EDIT also... i think many others did too... since i did it 4 times and still got EDIT i just picked EDIT.... grrr.... well if EVERYONE gets it wrong it gets thrown out obviously... the magnificent workings of a curve system. 🙂

I had BP, but it seems like a majority of qs and passages are the same for all forms, with a minority of passages and qs that differ. Why is aamc making life so hard for itself?

one last question from me.....then I'm done talking about this mcat until June.

for the 1st passage in verbal, how many B's did you get for the 5 questions (hopefully 3)?
only answer this question, if you were getting 10s or higher on your practice mcats.

I only do 8 out of 9 passages for the verbal. I usually do not do the first one because it's long and I'm superstitious. So, I guessed B for the first five questions.

Hello, =)

I had form AT, i'm not sure if this was a question in the PS section, but it was about rate laws and catalysts...

I was just thinking about it and realized that I got the question wrong.. but wasn't sure if that question was on the actual MCAT (everything has become a blur to me, after all that multiple choice question answering!)

Do you guys remember a question like that?

Thanks! 🙂

I can remotely remember a discrete that related to that. I think it might have had something to do with ....? I can't remember if that was on the BS or the PS. Heck, that might have been on a practice test i took the week before. That's all I got.

What was the one that decreases response of an action potential?

I was down to:

EDIT -----picked this one
and something about EDIT

I put EDIT b/c that's naturally what happens after an action potential, when another stimulus will have no effect (you need a stronger stimulus than before)- it increases the threshold. Any one else?
