So many of us ask about whether or not to retake the DAT (myself included). I noticed that on the MCAT forum, there is a post that sort of gives a formula for retaking the MCAT (i.e. you scored below a certain number, one section was particularly low, etc.). They were very detailed about this.

I think it would be great to have some sort of retake guideline for the DAT. I feel like with 6 sections to consider, it's hard to know when to retake. Is it okay for QR to be low? Is a 19 AA good enough? and so on.. Maybe some of you more experiences folks can come up with something!

Any help would be appreciated! If someone comes up with something really good, we should make it a new thread and sticky it.

This is a great idea, and would be helpful to a lot of people. Someone experienced and knowledgeable should take it up.

I think it should also be as detailed as possible though, since the parameters vary so much from person to person.

Supraman has a cool formula that I think could def be expanded upon:

X=GPA and Y=DAT score:
y= 41 -6 (x)
