my first achiever test score was 18/19 (AA/TS)...my test is on the 17th.

do you think i'll be ready in time to score 20+?

also, i was thinking about getting thru all of achiever this week, and then taking topscore on july 11th (like 6 days before my exam), since i hear topscore is easier than achiever? and if those scores are up to par, i'll take the test july 17th.. if not...i'll think about rescheduling, but at this point, i don't want to reschedule b/c it'll make my application late!

so good idea? bad idea? what should i do? thanks!

I'm almost positive your achiever scores are higher than 85% of the people here.

From what I noticed, achiever is about 3-5 lower than the actual scores. Having said that, I'd do those first and not worry about the low scores. You can do Topscore after for a better gauge and some confidence 🙂

Those scores don't scream "postpone" they scream "bring it on"

dont let your scores on practice tests really influence how "prepared" you are---only the PAT practices are worthwhile in showing how ready you are. Take the tests just to see what areas you dont know as much as you thought and then review. The Achiever tests are pretty much worthless---the roman numeral questions are not heavily used on the DAT and the type of questions are not as completely impossible.

I had a question on my DAT as simple as converting DNA into RNA during protein production is called: Transcription, Translation, ....... EASY!!!! (there were harder ones but nothing impossible)

I don't know your situation with studying but there is no way you could ever be completely prepared for this test. I felt that I could have studied for years to master everything completely. All you need to get is 20's across the board and then you should have no problem getting in (assuming you have a somewhat competitive GPA)---alot of people here on SDN have lost sight of the fact that a 17-18 is the middle to slightly upper middle score. Getting a 25 AA is completely unnecessary unless you have a god awful GPA.

This forum is geared to overacheivers, so don't think you have to get near perfects to be successful. If you covered the material then use the practice tests to refresh and fine-tune your knowledge of the material.
