Ok so I am really freaking out about my DAT this upcoming Thursday. I just did some practice exams and I am losing my confidence. I did Topscore over a month ago(first 2 exams) and were not that great but I didnt expect much so I have one more I will take on Tuesday.

But, My DAT Achiever scores are really low:
Achiever 1
Bio 15
GChem 17
OChem 17
I did well on QR (22), RC (20), and PAT (21). but the sciences no good.
Achiever 2 (same thing)
Bio 15
Gchem 15
Ochem 17
I only took the QR and got similar score. But the sciences no good.

I heard Achiever is harder so I took that Kaplan Blue Book Online CD today:
Bio 16
GChem 16
Ochem 18
TS 17
QR 23
PAT 25
Everything is good except for my sciences. What in the world can I do in the next few days b/c I am seriously freaking out about this? I have studied my ***** off for the last few months. Is this an indication that I am not ready? What can i do? I have to take it Thursday but my confidence is at an all time low.

if i was you i wouldnt reschedule the dat..go in with confidence..and rock it! you said you've studied for quite some time.... dont go by what the practice tests say ... the real one is the one that counts ... and i dont care how many times practice tests are written, they arent ever going to be the same as the real thing. get some confidence, go into the dat, and tell yourself you're gonna ace the thing..and come out with your head held high regardless what you get, you tried your hardest!!...turn one of those practice test set of scores into your real results, and i am confident you'll get interviewed somewhere..

Well if you reeeally feel unprepared, I would suggested buying DAT Destroyer and looking over the science sections. I liked it for Gchem and Ochem (especially the roadmaps) and it gave me a nice study guide on those sections. The bio section was kind of random, but so is the bio on the actual DAT. If you do end up using destroyer, you will probably have to reschedule your DAT for a later date in order to adequately go over the book. There is no point in spending $150 on a book if you aren't going to use it to its full advantage. Good luck, and stay positive!

Im planning on taking Topscore 3 test tuesday. Im gonna finish reading Cliffs AP Bio tonight and tomorrow i will work on ochem destroyer and the roadmaps. Hopefully that will do it.

Where do you suggest I purchase this test prep software? I don't know much about it and really need to purchase some soon and FAST!! Thanks!!🙂

hmmm you should go on fail blog

^^
wow ur such a douche.

jess - topscore and achiever are softwares that have full length practice tests.
Topscore - http://www.scholarware.com/products-dat.htm
Achiever - http://www.3tquest.com/

DAT Destroyer is a book with a whole bunch of practice problems for every section except QR and PAT. Check the free classifieds if anyone is giving theirs away, otherwise you can purchase it at:
http://www.orgoman.com/datdestroyer.html

CrackDATPAT is a very useful software for the PAT section - this one you have to purchase from their website because it only works on one computer.

Hope that helps. Gluck 👍

So how did you do? My test is coming up in a few days and I'm super nervous too :scared:

Well what can I say, the DAT was as expected and that was difficult. Here are my scores:
PAT 22
Bio 16 (ouch)
GChem 21
OChem 18
QR 21
RC 17

Biology was so freakn difficult. I dont know what to say, b/c I studied for that part more than any other section. I mean I read Cliffs 3 times and took notes, but the questions were just ridiculous. Like, not that I forgot something but I had never covered some of those topics/terminology. I feel that even if I had another week for Bio it wouldnt have mattered. I had 10 minutes left at the end of the SNS to look over Bio and i just went through the questions staring in disbelief.

RC was definitely a little bit harder than the practice. I was scoring 20-22 on practice and the real thing had questions on tone of passage and what should the author add as a last sentence to a paragraph. The questions were not as clear cut. So RC and Bio are the two scores I am really disappointed about and I am not sure what to do about a retake or not.

GChem was pretty clear and straightforward. Most of the problems were set up and didnt require working out which made me go through the section faster than on practice exams.

OChem I would say was pretty similar to Topscore exams. Nothing to complicated but I did run into a brick wall on some of the synthesis problems. I thought I guessed right but I guess I didn't.

PAT was easier than Crack DAT PAT. I did about 7 practice tests for Crack DAT PAT and was scoring b/w 20-22. The angles were kind of difficult but the hole punching was nowhere near as difficult as Crack DAT PAT.

QR well I dont know what happened there but on Crack DAT MATH I scored b/w 14 and 21 through 8 practice tests. So, I wasnt sure how well prepared I was for that. But when the section started on the real thing I just went into the zone and got it done. It said that my 21 was in the 97th percentile. Too bad most schools dont care about this section.
