During my first semester I got a 4.0 with A's in Chem 1, lab, and Calc II.
This semester I made some mistakes, I pledged a fraternity and as a result my GPA fell this semester.
I got
English 2: C
Honors Calc III:C+
Honors Chem II: B
Chem Lab:B-
Psychology:A

For a GPA of 2.78. I currently have a gpa of 3.35, but I have learned my lesson, and will do everything it takes to get A's in organic and bio.
What should I do? Will the C's in English and Calc be very detrimental to my dental school chances??

I posted this in the allopathic MD section, but I'm considering both, so input from the dental side would be valuable.

Now that you've learned your lesson, work harder over the next 3 years and show an upward trend. Your scores can be forgiven.

U have time to repair the damage & learn from ur mistakes.

You're completely fine. As long as you understand that what happened is not ok and future mistakes will destroy your chances at medicine and dentistry, you will be able to bring the GPA back up.

You did poorly in calc 3! I wouldn't worry at all.

I'm taking an English class next fall to make up for my poor performance in the composition class. My teacher was extremely harsh in grading and took off 90-100 points on my final paper because a couple of my citations were wrong. And I got an A in Calc 2, but my Calc 3 professor taught in a very theoretical way and it was a curveball. His testing was based on theories and explanation more than solving.
