So I just finished my Freshman year and it went okay. I just want to know what I can do to do better and if you all have any tips or suggestions.

Freshman 1st semester.
-GPA: 3.64
-Science GPA: 3.00

Freshman 2nd semester
-GPA: 3.81
-Science GPA: 3.91
(Unfortunately messed up my damn Econ class because my teacher F***** me over by giving me a 70% on participation the LAST day of class.....)

Cumulative:3.74
Science GPA: 3.7

EC?
- I started scribing so I know that I can get over 1500-2000 hours of shadowing + clinical experience from this within my 3 years at college; however, what else should I do because this is all I have on my resume at the moment.

MCAT - Also, what can I start doing now to be better prepared for taking the MCAT?

Your GPA is good, just continue to do well in your classes, maintain that upward trend.

Although scribing is a form of obtaining clinical experience, it is not the same thing as shadowing. That being said, start contacting physicians to see if you can shadow to build up the hours.

Start getting involved, whether it be student organizations, your local homeless shelter, a free health clinic - it's quite important to show that you dedicate your time towards those in need (doesn't have to be in a hospital, there are many options).

EDIT - I wouldn't worry too much about the MCAT now since you don't have to begin preparing for it until the end of your sophomore year (earliest). If you're really wanting to get ahead, I'd recommend taking biochemistry, and some of the other pre-med requisite courses so you can introduce yourself to the material on the MCAT.
