From whom should I use as my 4th LOE?

So I have the standard two sci professors and 1 dentist (who I work for) letters.

For my fourth one, I'm deciding between another dentist I shadowed during a summer or a graduate student I did research with (the professor passed away before I could get a letter so the grad student said he could help me write one cause he usually writes them for her anyway).

I'd say I'm equally close to both so whose letter do you think I should use?

i would not use an academic letter unless it was from an instructor with a phd.

so if a school requires 3 academic letters, i can't use the grad student's as one? he's getting his masters this month so would that boost his position?

You really do want a professor with a PhD if possible.
