I wanted to start a current thread on Fulbrights. I'm strongly considering submitting a proposal (due in september at my school). I will be taking a year off before med school in any case and figured I should at least try for a Fulbright as an option. Does anyone have experience with the application process (completed/in process/accepted)? Could you describe your experience applying and you project. For those who reply, would you be willing to discuss it further over PM?

Thanks.

I'm currently a Fulbrighter in Germany... PM me if you have any questions.

Just found out today that I got my Fulbright! Feel free to PM me too if you have any questions about the application process, etc.

i would just warn you that being abroad while applying could be a really hard or even impossible thing. unless you want to be flying back to the US for interviews all the time, that is. BUT i would still highly encourage you to go for it! just take a second year off afterward, which would be when you actually apply. (time off = awesome to the max)
