Excellent resource, i was unaware of that thread! Lots of very good disection videos. I was unable to find any live brain surgeries however, I've already exhausted google's suggestions by the way LOL!
Why not? How can you be a pre-med and not be interested in the human body?
Granted, I'm only a freshman, I'm trying to feel out what specialty may be of interest to me. As Chops said, why not? If you don't find these sort of things interesting or don't want to acquire more knowledge about the human body and how it's put together and works, than premed may be a bad idea.
One of my favorite resources as well. However, they always seem to start the broadcast mid-procedure. Not trying to sound TOO terribly picky here, but I would really love to see the whole thing, from beginning to end. Any ideas? Thanks again to all the helpful posters, im currently watching one on a brain tumor resection on orlive, and watched several dissection videos from the first link posted.
LOL i figured as much when the last brain surgery i watched was 2 hours long, and the surgeon said he was on hour 19 or 20 😱. But he said it was only supposed to take 2-3 hours, and I think its something worth watching, beginning to end, if I want to start really being serious about that specialty.
I agree completely with your post, however I'm kind of looking at it as if im reading the outline before diving into the material. IDK, if nothing else, i find it tremendously fascinating and I've already developed a greater understanding (albeit a very small understanding...) of the anatomy and physiology of the brain and body from simply watching surgery videos.
