Lol.U taking a forum to judge one's intelligence. That's really sad! Am busy at work and don't have enough time to proof read.Do that for me if you have time at ur end.

I don't generally proof read my own posts either. I just know how to type and spell.

seems a little fake to me. 30 K? in stipend alone? Much more than even 2000 dollars a month. Unless you found a cure for cancer and aids I don't see that.

But congrats if its true, and wait till all the financial aid is finalized to make your decision. Some top 10 schools have heavy financial aid packages.

Everybody EXCEPT OP:
Wait, guys. If the OP is really that dense, we should push him/her in the other direction, so that maybe one of us could get offered that scholarship opportunity...

OP:
Totally. Just go for the top 10 school. The other program is obviously too much of a commitment and totally not worth it. Besides, going to a top 10 school wouldn't cost you much but your payback would obviously be much higher. You DO know that top 10 med school graduates make AT LEAST TWICE as much as the national average, right?!

/sarcasm

OP started the rejection thread ---> http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=699073

I'm preettty sure at this point this thread is a troll. The fact that he had deleted his posts proves my point.

Moderators, want to close this thread down?

Lol.Did u look at the names well enough.Parademics88 and paranoid99 donot even rhyme well enough for an EMinem flow.Come again!!

What am saying is true.Believe it or not.I know fellow premeds are anxious to know the school.
I will let you know once I make my final decision.
Not now,cos am scared of the 40ish MCAT scores here.

Why would you be so protective of what the name of the school is? (A "Sorry, I'd like to keep that information private." would've sufficed instead of bashing premeds). And why would you be scared of people with high MCATs? You're already in and awarded the scholarship... unless you're a troll.

Devil is always in the details. Look the specifics and details over thoroughly several times.

It may or may not be worth it depending upon your particulars.

Three years of residency = anywhere from $35,000-$50,000 per year, with some small graduation in salary as you progress through second and third years.

Will you be in a fellowship kind of roll after you come back there? If you are more in learning mode than earning mode, depending upon what you are specializing in, it may well be worth it.

At ~ $60,000 per year (four years med school) + $30,000/year stipend (3 Years), that comes out to about $110,000 per year. How does the repayment work in terms of taxation? If it is totally tax free, even better.

But if you won't be happy in the terms and area, and all the rest--all angles and details, it may NOT be worth it FOR YOU.

I'd have an attorney look it over too. Seriously.

Also, just b/c people have loans out for X amount of years, it does not mean you can't pay them off sonner. That's how amotization calculators can be helpful.
So again, the devil is in the details, and it all depends.

If this is legit, take it to a lawyer and talk to some reliable people rather than throwing it up on a message board. 🙂

Just my two cents on it; but that's what I would do. Every contract has fine print and specialized wording of which you must be aware.

Thank you.Need to read something like this. Many folks here are bashing me for putting up such a question.Although I like the offer, being in debt,to me is much better than me being in a situation where I have to go back and serve a particular demographic region for a certain number of years.

I am still pondering over the whole offer!! As you said I need to look at the fine prints!!

As the OP appears to now have an empty original post, it appears there is no longer any need for this thread to continue, so it's being closed.
