I got a few rejections recently and just wonder if that might be a reason. I have 280 hrs of clinical, 160 non clinical and 140 shadowing but stopped volunteer since September of last year because my work schedule changed; I no longer have a half day on Wednesday and I have to study for the MCAT over the weekends until Apirl 2011.

After the MCAT on April of this year I was busy with writing application so did not start volunteer again. Now that all is done I plan to look for volunteer position during the weekends.

If your volunteering hours are anything like your clinical/shadowing, that shouldn't be the problem at all.

It shouldn't matter at all whether you are involved in a volunteering activity "now." Especially if you have a respectable full-time job at the moment.
Just having done them is the notable point.

You have 400+ posts so I assume that you're serious. No. It is not because you stopped volunteering, its not like you never volunteered. Maybe just better applicants, interview, ect. It was not the fact that you stopped volunteering.

Definitely not. It's not an hours game, it's about substantive experience. If you can hold down a full-time job while volunteering once a week that would be ideal. But you're not being passed over because you're not currently volunteering somewhere.
