I think people go to Chicago.

Was that sarcastic?? There are things to do here; I'm just looking for suggestions, and I'm pretty sure Chicago is not the only one. Thanks anyways though -

as far as places to go out....if you like a fairly classy, relaxed atmosphere, i would recommend a new place downtown called Tangerine. If you enjoy busier places or like to dance, then i would recommend Eve which is also downtown. Water street downtown has a bunch of bars and restaurants as well. As far as studying goes, your best bet is probably to stay on the MCW campus, as other than a few scattered coffee shops, there aren't any other good places to study. Hope this helps.

TD81,

Bored in da Cream City, hey? What are you looking to do? Dance? Drink? Study?

Try headin' to the East Side (North Ave., Brady St., etc.). There you'll find plenty of bars to hang out at. Water street isn't bad, but it's a bit of a meat market. The third ward has a handful of bars, also (not to mention La Fuente's and La Perla, two decent mex restaurants). On Friday's, cruise over to one of the breweries to have a couple on the house. Some of my peeps used to head over to the one along the river (i think it's called riverwest brewery) for the tour and free suds. If you're sick of studying at the COW, try going over to UWM (Golda Meier Library - very big and pretty quiet). Got any other questions, send me a PM.

Dance: Check out Parkbar on Thurs night
Rain on Sat. nights

Chill: Check out the Velvet lounge, Eve is okay too

Study: Campus, Barnes and Noble at mayfair, Marquette library and that coffee shop by Lake, (forgot the name)

Water street is way OVERRATED!!!!! Kindda stupid after a while, but the drinks are cheap too bad the people there are too immature.

Hope this help

As far as places to hang...I don't know exactly what you are into, but I can say I don't recommend Water Street for all of the aforementioned reasons! You might like place on the Eastside like Mantra Lounge, Cush, Dragon Lounge, and BBCs!! If you are into a more artsy crowd with interesting roots down live music check out ONOPA Brewery (a brewpub in Riverwest with pretty good live shows)!
As far as places to eat....Milwaukee has a lot of cool restaurants...
Prime Quarter...a place where you pick out and grill your own meat (reasonably priced)
Safehouse is a fun theme restaurant to go to on a weekend night before going out
Kopps...has great butterburgers and awesome awesome awesome frozen custard (beware if you are lactose intolerant ;-)
The African Hut on 3rd street (fun place to dry mostly West African food and drinks....www.africanpresentations.com)
La Perla, La Fuentes...good mex and good margis
I have to admit though...most people really seem to enjoy it here in the summer when there is festival after festival after festival and the BREW is put back into BREWTOWN!!!
Oh and the brewery tours are fun to check out the best one is the one on the Riverfront called the Lakefront Brewery....Miller tour is alright, and the Sprecher Brewery tour is fun!!!
Good luck,
