I was just calculating my grades, and I noticed how Pathetic they are. I knew this because I just re-enrolled in College in Spring '07.

Anyways, My grades are: BCP 3.6(And that's where it stops)

Science GPA 2.902

Cumalitve 2.868

Why?? Because I started my freshman summer off with a 4.0. Then, I had two semesters of all F's. Literally. I look back on it, and it is funny, yet sad at the same time.

Since starting back in school last yr, I've maintained a 3.75 Science GPA and a 3.6 cumlative GPA. (you can make an A in organic chemistry, but when you take business classes with group projects, you can easily get screwed with a B)

*sigh* so, depending on how I do this semester, I might be able to pull it up to a 3.0. Still laughable. I have yet to take the DAT. Do you guys think I have any sho? I know that I have to pull a miracle. I'm shooting for a 21, but do you think that is too low?

I have some volunteering/shadowing experience.

In which year undergrad are you? Depending on this you may not have to do what others with weak GPA have had to do.

Graduating Senior. I'll probably end up taking classes in the summer and the faill just in case I do not get accepted. However, I plan to rock the DAT since I'm a relatively good test taker(+ Next couple months of hardcore studying).

I plan to apply to every school also. This is a little off-topic, but I just did a search and I read that there is a 5 school limit when using AADSAS. Is this True?

Beats me. Never heard of a school limit. Don't apply to every school it won't make a bit of a difference. Why don't you continue taking classes for an extra year? Definitely do well on the DAT. People have gotten in with credential similar to yours but some of them have resorted to special masters program to make them more competitive. AADSAS separates undergrad GPA from graduate GPA so it shows as a new untainted GPA. If you do well it may take you an extra year or two but it will be worth it. For now do well on the DAT and show new good grades since your undergrad record is uneven.

doubt there's a limit on the number of schools you can apply to. I applied to 9 schools.

Also i think you have a shot...depending on your EC's and interviews.

Also if you were able to do well in those science classes you have a good shot at getting a decent DAT.

I also think a good dat will go a long way in offsetting your low GPA.

But why 2 semesters of F's? If you had a reason, that might be another mitigating factor. Also, if there's been an upwards trend, they say Adcom's like that too.

The adcom's aren't looking at numbers, really. They're looking at you. Apply early if you're going to apply this year. There's a WHOLE LOT more spots floating around at the beginning of the cycle than there are towards the end (read: apply May 15).

If you really think your 3.0 will be a big hindrance, do a postbac.

GL w/ everything.

sorry i didnt really get this part?

you said you will end up taking classes if you dont get accepted? if you apply the 09 cycle the earliest acceptance is 12/1/09.

did you apply the 08 cycle? which doesnt make any sense since you didnt take your dat?

i say over summer just focus on dat. dont worry about a few summer classes?

I plan on studying for the DAT this summer. Something like June or July. Then, whenever I'm done with that, I would start taking classes I suppose. This is my first time applying. I made A's in bio 1 and 2, ochem 1, but I received a B in ochem 2. I made the mistake of taking it in the summer with another class. I should have just taken it by itself.

Hi, Im in a very similar situation as you are. All i could do is move forward and the past is the past. I'm studying super duper hard for my DAT's so that it can hopefully shine some light on my application... dont be discouraged. study hard for your DAT's and do well on your classes your currently taking now. i think we both can do it!!!😛

Thanks for the encouragemen. Yah, there is nothing to do but to study. I'm shooting for a 23. I have 3 months to do it.

If I dont attain a 23 or I get rejected this yr, I'm already planning to take classes for the next year anyways. Sooner or later....

You probably read that you can select up to 5 schools to send your DAT scores to before you have to pay extra.

I think you are probably right. I Think that I read somebody did not want to use up their allotted 5 schools, and I understood that to be the max. I just registered yesterday so I kind of figured that out.

I just realized after this semester my science GPA will be above a 3.0, and my BCP gpa will get a significant bump. However, I will still be sub 3.0 for cumalitve.

Damn it. Even if I get a 23 I still might not get in.
