Future WW Games

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Not modkilling (since everyone would use that as an out), but being locked out of the thread until the last 2 hours on the fifth irl day.

Lawpy, we talked about this... No one is playing a midnight shift for WW. 😛

I'm out sorry. I'd rather be modkilled than get locked out of the thread :bag::sorry:

Thoughts on 6 hour days and 6 hour nights? :cat::shy:
I have thought about this actually! I doubt it would ever work with people's work schedules, but I have thought that something like a 6:2:6:10 hr breakdown might be fun to try at some point.

I'm now imagining the 5 minutes to eods in what is essentially 12/12 double-dash mode.

Nope. It's Karabou but i think she's busy so don't want to bother her

Responded. Sorry all this month has been busy. Normally get Fridays off and have had to work all but 1 this month. Had a Saturday off (but not same week as my Friday off) and even worked a Sunday as I had to help with angry boarding cats. All this on top of a puppy means I'm exhausted but it should be getting back to normalish now. Looking forward to this Saturday/Sunday as it's two days of in a row!

Happy to help the we addiction though

So... I don't expect I'll actually have the time to play on my own until winter break but if there's ever a game before then without long cycles and a mod that might allow me to hydra then lmk. Because I'm bored a lot, but too busy with school to fully commit to a game.

Or like, 16/8 cycles if people want longer day cycles. But 48 hour cycle games are just too much for me

Bonus points if the mod lets me hydra because then I'll also play?
Ohhh can we hydra together.

What could go wrong.

But also I’m on anesthesia next so my schedule will be pretty lax.

That'll have to be someone else. But hopefully in the process, the list gets cleaned up a bit. And a Halloween game :vamp::zombie::cat:

Also this! Really anything that adds up to 24.

That's a 10 AM EST start/2 AM EST day end? Or could be a 6 AM EST start/10 PM EST day end? That feels too early or too late

I can totes do a 12/12 unless Lawpy (or someone else) wants to alongside someone else's (or mY OwN) 36/12. But I'm still hydra-resistant because it runs a loophole ethical argument I can't find a satisfactory answer to.

Should the wolves get an extra silent strategizing member that can't slip up on thread? Or should village have a built in mason role in addition to whatever else ability that slot may have? And if village, should they be nerfed to vanilla for this mason inheritance? Or will the wolves use that to not PR hunt there because mason/other ability combo is s t r o n g?

Too much thinking... :dead:

I'm hydra-resistant too because they're prime conversion targets (maybe not recently but it was common when I started and that made me hesitant). I'm ok with 12/12, but sometimes I can accidentally be late with night close and don't want to reduce day discussion without an extension in 12/12 setting (which can be absorbed in 36/12).

Someone probably would need to make a game after the current one is done as I'll likely be busier. Just a heads up.

Meh.

I know a not insignificant number of players talk about the game with other people who aren't playing the game (SDN members or otherwise). A hydra where only one person can post on thread really isn't much different from that other than being officially mod sanctioned.

I think the only place it's potentially slippery is giving the wolves a silent strategizing member because if the hydra is in wolf PM then they can talk to ALL the other wolves, but that can be circumvented by giving the hydra a private PM and not allowing the silent head to talk in wolf PM either.

I don't know. A lot of us are really busy and hydra-ing is literally the only way I can play sometimes so it's a bit of a bummer that it seems like a lot of mods are resistant to allow it now.

That's indeed the largest issue. If I can't put the hydra in wolfchat... then they're lock clear at the start of day 1, making them equivalent to innocent child+mason status at the start of D1 and putting the wolves at an disadvantage.

Even with banning the silent half out of wolfchat, what will stop the talking half from acting as a messenger between PMs and still interspersing strategy?

Except you can put them in the wolf chat. A hydra should be RNGd into a role like anyone else.

Who cares? I don't see much difference between that and your standard non-hydra wolf who converses with their friends on the side about how things are going in the game.

If you really care that much you can ban the talking head from directly telling the other wolves that "silent head suggested xyz" and require that they present it as their own strategy/questions/thoughts. Seems unnecessary, but could be done.

I think the kski hydra, finnski hydra, Mixy/Weim/Mama hydra. There might be more but don't remember

I don't think two hydras constitutes them being "prime targets for conversion"*. Plus you'd have to look not just at how many hydras were converted but then compare that to how many games there were that had hydras who were not converted. I really haven't seen hydras getting converted at a higher rate than other players though admittedly I haven't exactly run numbers.

*You can't count finnski in support of that idea because we were a product of pure RNG.

Yeahhhhh.... finn and I were RNG converted as one of @Stagg737’s rezzes. Unfair to try and count that as a hydra being converted since no one had any say in which Rez was the convert.

I wish we'd been chosen. Then I wouldn't still have this annoying "get converted on purpose" box left on my WW checklist.
