Completely random question
how do people feel about 48/24?
I'm actually ok with it, especially if I'm on a rough rotation. The badness happens if I'm busy but everyone else is posting 500 times a day. If it's a game like that where everyone is kinda busy it works nicely I think.

34d isn't bad either.

Ok so what do the numbers mean? 36/12 = 36 hour day cycle, 12 hour night cycle?
Yes
So 48/24 would be a 2- day day phase and a 1-day night phase

How is that in any way appealing??

I hope the write up deaths are about enucleations, exophthalmos, ocular migrans
Enucleation = removing the globe.
Most common orbital surgery. Submit the globe for histopath afterwards. Silicone prosthesis can be placed in the orbit but slightly increases the risk of dehiscence. Procedure is generally the same in mammals, but rabbits & rodents have a very extensive retrobulbar venous sinus and there is significant hemorrhage risk! Ensure all animals have sufficient platelets first because we don’t do much to control bleeding during the surgery.

Evisceration = removal of the intraocular contents but retaining the sclerocorneal shell
Typically place a silicone prosthetic inside. Contraindicated if neoplasia or inflammatory disease. (Rarely done in cases of glaucoma; is a referral surgery for sure). Can still have corneal disease/pain. Not really recommended over enucleation in animal patients.

Exenteration = removal of globe and as much of the orbital contents as possible.
This is an extensive surgery that often results in a lot of bleeding and a lot of pain afterwards. May involve bone. Radiation therapy is typically a better option for most situations where exenteration might be considered.

Orbitectomy = resection of the entire orbit and bony contents. This is a major surgery; see above for cautions.

Orbitotomy = surgical entry into the orbit.
This is often used to remove foreign bodies or small, localized tumors. Not all of the orbit is equally accessible (ventral and medial is hard to get to). May require wiring of zygomatic bone afterwards depending on surgical approach.

That is actually a great idea. The roles could be eye conditions and the wolves could be procedures for really sick eyes. Lawper, maybe this could work afterall!

My oldest partner actually attempted cataract surgery on a dog once (white mature cataract, nothing really to lose), but dog eyes are much more vascularized than human eyes and it ended up being a bloody mess unfortunately.

Can you find out if one of the two are ready to go next? If not tomorrow is the day for me to finish it up.
