This would be way, way in the future (probably a year from now or at least ~15 games under my belt and maybe co-mod a few games), but eventually I would like to mod my own.

the man, myth, legend, has posted up signups... looking for a large, large game...

Lounge game is... different.... than pre-vet game. I'm not exactly sure how, as I play in both places and don't notice too much difference from a well run lounge game and a well run pre-vet game, but i've been told repeatedly that there is a difference...

I don't notice a whole lot, either. I think lounge games are a bit more experimental, overall. And of course they're super saiyan serious.

Not sure I would have posted this here quite yet with all the new players around. I don't think they are ready for a lounge game, to be honest (not that it is much different, just that the way the players over there play is not quite the same).

If you can't handle being told point blank that you are a ******* ***** (use your imagination for creative language), then don't sign up. (Especially if you have ever thought anything we have said was rude, then you should not sign up because it will be 100x worse over there).

Also, the noobs around here talk way too much during games, when they die, etc. If you sign up, best be prepared to tone it down and only post stuff that is relevant.

I am not being mean here, this is just how it is over there.

he wants 32 players or it isn't going to happen... do you know 32 loungers that have ever played a game, let alone are active?

If he wants that many, its this way or no way. I have faith they can handle the bit more harshness, it's not like we have been easy on them as far as language is concerned, and this game we are currently playing is evidence that the extracurricular posting has been toned down...

No, but I still would have given loungers longer than you did to sign up. Many of them aren't around constantly and it is an opportunity for them when a game does come out over there.

Oh well.... we shall see if they can handle it, I already know of one noob that was telling LIS this last game that what he said was rude and it really was not. :shrug:

We can't also use curse words over here, the loungers do and they will WOH you if they don't like you.

well, they have been warned now 😉

JDH is a big boy, he can handle how the signups go if someone gets shut out that should have had an opportunity to play. I think he'd much rather that option than the option of not running the game because enough people didn't sign up...

no, in the pre-vet game someone (i think sarcastically) said LIS was being harsh when he wasn't... you are a lounger, you know what we are like and, while physically limited from doing it currently, usually can wipe your own behind 😉

Yeah, I still would have given it a few days if it were me. Game doesn't start until June anyway. Oh well.... time to see if these noobs can handle things that are actually mean and not little slaps to the wrist.

i think we also blow the differences between the lounge and pre-vet a little out of proportion. I for one only censer the word choice, not the meaning, between the two areas... :shrug:

I am not talking game structure, etc. I see no difference. But the lounge peeps are more serious and if you feck up jdh's game.... you will be WOH'd by a lot of people.
 
To be fair to that noob, I think maybe he misinterpreted the part about knowing biology in LIS' comment? Not the second part, whatever it was.

I dunno for sure, but I could see that happening.
 
I think I would have allowed jdh to post the game over here if he had wanted newbs to play.... and also allowed the veterans in the lounge a chance to sign up.... there are a lot over there that only play in lounge games....

it is his game, he should make the call

i was talking about level of discourse, not level of game play... we still get a bit heated and salty in pre-vet, although it has been surprisingly calmer these past few games for some reason :whistle:

32 is pushing it for all loungers to be honest. Just be sure you can handle extreme bluntness, sarcasm and maybe 5-10 people yelling at you at once, you will be fine. 🙂

I feel like people outside the Lounge do more ****-talking about Loungers than vice-versa nowadays....

We're not dinguses. Many of us have been on here anywhere from 5-10 years and know each other quite well and if someone comes into our circle and acts like a normal person, it's fine. It's only when people get very uppity that the WoH begins. And compared to ~5 or so years ago, the WoH is not nearly what it used to be.

Honestly, this is how I would like every game run. There is a time and a place to be silly, and I'm not going to lie that a little bit of it makes games fun, but sometimes (especially in pre-vet) it is way, WAYYY too much.

And yeah, lounge games tend to involve a lot more aggressiveness about calling people out. But that's what WW is supposed to be. It's not supposed to be everyone sitting around posting sadfaces like Oh, I don't know who to lynch, I'm too scared to vote or call anyone out for rounds after round after round.

No, the lounge people are not dinguses. They are good people, but if someone comes in acting like a dummy then they will get yelled at. Somehow @thedrjojo was able to avoid this... he acts like a dummy and they still like him... 😉 😛
