If so, DocEspana, I'll need a bio from you before the game starts. Your fellow Pre-Vet mafia players can even help you out with this. It can be anything: Your play style, any interesting stories or facts from your werewolf career, hobbies, favorite movies etc. etc. If you want inspiration, you can take a look at the earlier linked game threads - the bios are at the start of each thread. Also, I need to know what year you started playing.

I think I need to assemble the wolf's den brain trust. A bio will be created soon enough I'm sure. Likely very unflattering towards me. I'm cutthroat

Anyone wanna help out @DocEspana and participate in a mafia type game set up in the format (I think) the competition he is about to compete in is? I have a quick one ready that is 13 players; 2 mafia, 10 villagers and 1 cop/seer. The rules would be no PMs except mafia, thread chat only during day, and the rest is pretty much the same. It would of course be much quicker in nature as I believe the day cycle for competition is set up to be like 24 hours or something, but I would take a poll to see what works for the timeline and players who sign up. Night cycle would be pretty short obvs as I would only need two actions. 🙂

If you want my input:

We run this with 3 mafia and 9 villagers (and 1 seer obv). We've run the setup 200 times and the town wins 52 % of the time, so it seems balanced that way. Of course, the seer has a random vanilla townie pre-game peek/check in our setup, so if you want to not have that, I guess removing a mafia affects balance less so.

Of course I like the input! I have adjusted to the 3 mafia. The game I am following on that forum had the initially stated set-up, then doc corrected me and I glanced at game 5 and saw the difference.
 
So, one problem with researching all these WW threads in order to get up to speed enough to run a good game is that:

Has anyone done a Hunger Games WW? It seems like an obvious setting that could be explored. You could have special roles for Katniss, Peeta, Rue, etc. You could have sponsors from outside the game choose to help a character in trouble. The possibilities are endless! But, I am thinking that one of the coolest variants would be to keep it really simple. Just villagers and wolves, no special roles at all. No lengthy exposition needed. Just pure, simple game play. Would be especially good for a speed game:

24 Tributes, from 12 Districts, 6 wolves. Innocent Tributes know if the other person from their District is a wolf, but can't communicate that openly. Thus, no one can ever vote to lynch the other Tribute from their District. No PMs except for wolves. No chatter from the dead. 45 minute days and 15 minute nights, start with a day?

If someone more experienced than me with forum based WW were willing to mod it, I would love to play. Make whatever adjustments you'd think would make it a better game. If not, I'd like any advice on how to make it go right and then I'll run it on an upcoming weekend day. Not this coming weekend. Pride parade Sat, and then I have to drive to Erie and back Sunday. But maybe next?

Also since I'm super psyched about seeing Jurassic World this weekend - whatever happened to that Jurassic Park redux @cuitlamiztli and @DVMDream were going to do? If that's no longer on the cards, I'd be into trying to come up with a Jurassic World themed redux. But I would also really love to play any jurassic themed game 😀

I haven't heard from cuit in I don't even know how long. I am way too busy with 4th year to mod a game. If you want to have at modding a Jurassic Park game, go for it. I just don't have the time right now.

Yes. Either. I just want there to be a game, even if it means running it.

If I were going to mod, I would want to do a fairly simple game, not a lot of extraneous mechanics. I have neither played nor modded a WW game via forum before.

I'm hoping that you will mod so that I can at least be a player once before I start running games for others. *Pretty please?*

I usually prefer modding to playing, but that learning curve, tho. I don't want my more complex game idea to fall flat on its face because of a rookie mistake that might have been avoided by lurking moar.
