I have a game ready to go that I was originally going to do on a different mafia forum, but I am interested in possibly doing it here instead, assuming that y'all are okay with three things:
1. Preventing discussion on the theme by any means, as it ruins the game design if the general thread is well aware of the theme.
2. If story type games are acceptable here, which move slower, but paint more of a narrative picture, encouraging those to really interact with the story.
3. If large scale games are also acceptable here.

If all of those are acceptable, I would be interested in doing a game whenever a slot opens up. It has 33 people exactly (balancing prevents no fewer and no more). I would likely need the assistance of one person to handle some pms and the occasional tally, so if anyone is interested, also feel free to let me know.

It’s been a little since we’ve had a game that large. Might want to run it during the summer if you run it here. Games haven’t been much more than 24 of late, usually 18-20 as majority of our players are in school

As always, I’m happy to back seat mod. Depending on when it runs, may have time to be a bit more helpful but depends on deadlines and how crazy work is

Might have success but would likely need to wait until summer when most of us are out of school. Other option is the lounge, they like bigger games there, but expect big things... you definitely will enjoy reading their games though

Do you believe that between lounge players and pre-vet we could get up to 33 players prior to summer? I become a tad bit less available once summer hits, and I would like to give the game the write ups that it deserves. If not, I can likely wait until after Summer.

I can't be sure. I usually mass tag ~60-70 players each game and the games here usually fill up to 20-24 players. I think more people will be available around May or so to reach the required 33 but can't guarantee
 
Potentially need a sub if anyone wants in on the gladiator game going on.

So would it be prudent to just do a sign up thread way in advance and see how the chips fall, and if it doesn't work then to delay it further? Did anyone have in for the game following the gladiator game?

From the way you're talking about this, I assume you are very familiar with modding. The one aspect I potentially foresee being an issue on this forum is the first one. Sometimes it's hard to try to rein in how players play the game and control what they can/can't say.

(Not just speaking about myself here -- I think I could keep a lid on it if it was required for the game to work. More speaking generally about how it's a bit precarious from a balancing perspective to rely on players playing how you want vs. how they want).

Perhaps there could be the threat of modkilling if anyone claims or even hints at the flavor of their role (even if it's fake)? Alternatively, I was also thinking people just don't get anything but their ability in the role PMs.

So it's not a matter of divulging stuff from mod pm, that is fine. The issue comes in if all of the speculation centers around what the theme is, it will detract from the game itself. I already have the intro post written up, and it threatens mod kills if there is any discussion regarding the theme of the game in the thread, pms, etc. Everything has been modified moderately to make the theme not immediately obvious, even to those familiar with the theme. But it is inevitable a few people will pick up on the theme at least by the end of the game, hence why I am trying to see if people would be amenable to having that restriction in there.

I mean, that is fine, so long as it doesn't leave the mod pms. Individuals can try and use that to their advantage, the issue becomes when they then make the logic and flow of the game focused around what is the theme rather than interacting with the story as presented (which will be a fair bit different than what the theme is based on)
