Until you start measuring your game time played in terms of months and not hours or days (or years in my case) you definitely don't need to feel shameful, haha.

Black Ops for the win! Im in Australia currently for 4 months with no Xbox...I am deprived and going through Black Ops withdrawal haha I was playing it 2-3 hours daily since it came out......as embarrassing as that is to admit. The GF is not impressed with me for choosing COD over her at times😛

Oh and for DO Vs MD on Black Ops....I got this guys dont worry, I will own any MD on it
 
I don't know what it is about Black Ops, but it just isn't as much fun as MW2 was for me
 
When I started med school, there were 2 guys in my class who played WoW and they would always talk about how they could handle playing and studying . . . . they both failed out of school by the end of the first semester :laugh: 👍

Man, I feel you on that one. I think I have logged just over 100 hours on Black Ops... I sometimes ask myself if I could have done something more constructive with the time... But whatever. It's what we enjoy to do with our downtime. :shrug:

That's a pretty solid KD. I'm going to guess you were playing Demolition or Core, because I think it's neigh impossible to get much over the mid-thirties on Hardcore Team DM (about all I play). Although, I have recently gotten into HC CTF and that's a blast as well, if you have a good group of guys.

Are you playing on the XBox or PS3?

I don't think you're alone in that sentiment, but I really enjoy it. I thought MW1 was the best though. The single player was solid as well. I don't like the single player on Black Ops at all.
 
I loved MW2 when it first came out but the game just got ridiculous after 6 months. People with ZERO skill were able to get huge scores because of noob tubes and spawn trapping. It became such a joke that I just made a knife class and ran around like a chicken with my head off.....sure enough I was getting 30-1 KDRs on TDM lol

I like Black Ops cuz it requires more skill.

got a 200-0 domination game the other day! saved it! its sad but I was more excited about that than when i got my first acceptance letter.
 
Eagerly awaiting Dead Space 2 over here.

Surprised nobody mentioned that or Bioshock.

Nice, man. I'll have to check it out. That map is usually either really good for me or really bad for me, but not really much in between. However, I have never even come close to that...

Love for the first Dead Space. 'pop out' monster closet scares got tiring after a while, but it was a good game. Brutal, too.

Lol. DO's for sticks and stones, melee (i just whip out some OMM and problem solved) but I think our MD buddies like the sniping and slow tactics better. We make a good team 🙂

Its the Chiro guys that have trouble shooting the guns. Seems they dont have full practice rights...

I keep meaning to pick that game up, but I never get around to it. It sounds like a lot of fun. Who could pass up a game where you beat zombies with every imaginable weapon.

Although, I'm not really into Black Ops zombies.


I can't wait to play Red Dead Redemption. I'm planning on picking up the zombies version once I play through the regular version.
 
Playing DC Universe online for the PS3 currently. Finally a game where I can beat up Superman.

Seriously, I keep trying to buy all these big name games that people say are must haves but all I really keep playing at all are multiplayer shooters like Halo, COD, etc. And smash, can't ever get bored of smash.

Is that supposed to be good? They've really sucked since they went 3D. The genesis ones were AMAZING though, some of the best gaming memories ever.

I bought it, only played like 10 hours of it though. Like I said in my last post I guess I just don't have the patience for non-multiplayer games anymore, especially those long ass rockstar ones.

I really need to get black ops btw, and live.

Frankly, I'm a little dismayed at the lack of DO's playing strategy games like Civilization V or something. Am I the only one who enjoys this woeful waste of time?

I'm a huge fan of the command and conquer series. I really liked Generals and I still occasionally play Tiberium Wars. I also really liked Empire Earth back in the day.

I really only like those games if I'm playing on LAN or something along those lines though. Playing them online with random people isn't nearly as fun.

After playing that, my Black Ops days are through..much much much more realistic...can even hear the people's foot steps if someone is trying to creep up.. can knock down buildings with your tanks or explosives..ridiculous game.

was a halo 3 addict...halo reach, not as much..All the CoDs..Orange Box..Tekken 6!!

InFamous (for PS3) was probably one of my most preferred games...cannot wait until InFamous 2 comes out.

Worried about when medical school starts and I move across the US...should i take with me my xbox, ps3, both, or neither...so many perks to each..don't even know when i'm gonna get a chance to touch them, and scared of playing for 6 hours straight and just forgetting about studying lol.

I really really loved the age of empires series (all of them except for maybe mythology). If I could find a good partner for 2s or 2 people for 3s, I would be theorycrafting and simulating our comps synergy all day long for different strats. That is definitely my favorite part of the game-all the different strategies depending on the civs you and your partner choose and depending on your opponents and the map you are playing on. Add that to a keyboard full of custom macros for each civ and it is just as addicting as WOW, haha.
 
I'm kinda old school and I don't have much time for video games currently (MCAT prep, hw, etc) but my younger days were filled with fond memories of Counter-Strike. I actually started playing again about this time last year and it got really obsessive for about 2 months.

Early 2000's is about the time I was playing video games hard since I was in high school. Did anyone ever bring their computers (laptop/desktop) together with friends and set up LAN parties?

Oh YES! Those Halo 1 LAN parties where you'd bring over a bunch of different Xboxes and hook them up. I miss those days.

Back in high school almost every weekend me and a few friends would all bring our desktops to someones house and play all sorts of games over lan (and online). Even was able to make some halo 1 and halo 2 tournaments with about 50-60 people (which was semi impressive because I lived in a very small town) but only did that twice for each game because it was difficult to get 15 tvs and xboxs along with about 1,000 feet of cat5 and 5 routers along with managing all the games once the tournament started. It was crazy fun but I never seemed to get much playing time during them because of all the micromanaging.

It was regular Team death on xbox. None of my friends were on so I didn't have to share my kills. Out of 75 Kills I got 51 of them. I got two legit Chopper Gunners. It was the most phenomenal game I have played or seen. Got it on my File share if you wanna check it out.
 
Eh, WoW and SC2 are definitely my two games of choice, but there's no way I'll be playing WoW still once I enter med school for fear of the exact same thing a previous poster mentioned. Probably a little SC2 since it's way less time consuming, though. Still, I've got another 5 months and I'll be playing the heck out of both games while I still can 😀

Used to have Quake Lan parties back in the day.

Best part about the Nintendo 64=Goldeneye, intsa-LAN part for up to 4 people.

That's about what I've done with it too. Now if I play it again, I'm going to have to start from scratch, since it's been so long.

You've gotta get Black Ops, man. It's definitely worth it and it comes out with a new map pack in February.

i played black ops obsessively for a few months, but i had to have a friend hide it from me so i could study for MCAT. this better be worth it!! i was just about to prestige again too!

It will be worth it, man. Just think, after 3 months of studying you can get back into COD guild free and know you did well on the MCAT. If I could have changed anything about my MCAT prep it would have been to study more and SDN/Video game/girlfriend/etc. a lot less... It's all about sacrifice.
