gametophyte/sporophyte

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
*Gametes (1N- haploid) combine with another gamete (1N) to form a
sporophyte (2n-Diploid).
*Sporophytes have like sporangia that develop spores which are haploid 👎 which develope into gametes again. cycle repeats.

so: Gametes 👎 + Gamete 👎 --> Sporophyte (2N) --> Spores (1N) -> Gametophyte (which produces games)..repeat

The only plant species that is Gametophyte dominant (primarily in that stage in that life cycle) are Bryophytes.
The rest that really matter (higher up plants) like Pterophytes, Gymnosperms etc are Sporophyte dominant.
