Gap in BCPM & AO GPA - How bad is it?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It was better if the gap was in the other direction. I'm not sure what schools would think of that gap. A few things that I would recommend doing:
In your vision statment, write that you want to get an MD/MBA. Your AO grade's is extremely good and I think you could do great in an MBA program. Or write you want an MD JD. I think these would make you stand out a TON and greatly increase your chances otherwise.
Also, apply to both Tulane and Case Western. These are two schools that tend to favor the individual person over how smart they are scientifically.
Hope that helps.

i don't think any adcom cares about the gap as much as they care specifically what your BCPM GPA is. if you had a 4.0 BCPM GPA but only a 3.0 AO GPA i doubt anyone would care too much, other than the fact that having such a large discrepancy can really wreak havoc on your overall GPA. the bottom line is that your BCPM GPA is what matters most, not how it compares to the rest of your GPA. med schools only want to get a sense of whether you can handle hard science courses.
