Gap year advice much needed! Florida Resident

I posted a "what are my chances" a few weeks ago and received feedback from you guys.

Stats: (by graduation in June, 2016)

cGPA: ~3.72
sGPA:~3.55
MCAT: 507

EC's are good (shadowing, volunteering, research with a poster and publishing coming up, leadership positions etc.)

Sent a primary application in for USF 1 year masters in medical sciences program to start Fall 2016

Is it a good idea to finish the application and apply and complete the program during my gap year or should i stay at my undergraduate university and take non degree seeking masters degree credits and send those grades into my schools. I plan on applying to MD schools and DO schools next summer for the 2016-2017 cycle.

Any info would be very much appreciated!

If you applied DO now you would get in for the class of 2020

What do you need a masters degree for? It will have no effect on your GPA.
