I graduated from a very well known, large university in the northeast (Major: Human Physiology) and I am currently enrolled in an SMP program (Biomedical Sciences) - will finish June 2017. I have applied this cycle as well. I haven't heard anything back yet (low GPA) and just bracing for the worst.

I know there have been many threads about jobs during gap years, but I havent found one for those with a Masters degree.

What kinds of jobs should I look for and when should i start to look into applying for them? If i don't get in this cycle I would like a way to atleast start chipping away at my Masters debt.
Any advice would be great, thanks!

Can you do some TA/RAing at your alma mater? Thats what I did and it helped some.

It would have been impossible for me to find a job in the field I have a master's in for just a year. After you get an advanced degree the expectation is you're building a career in that field, not doing temp work.

I did research during my gap year while tutoring on the side.

I'm working as a research tech. for 2-years at a top-10 hospital in the NE while volunteering twice a week and shadowing here and there. Many labs offer part-time jobs to techs./research assistants, however it's up to you as to how much you want to get out of a short-term research experience.
