I would start studying in January for the MCAT if you do not get in and take it in the spring. Way too early to start panicking, you should get some DO love atleast
You should be middle of the pack for DO applications and state schools if you are lucky enough to reside in a state that has schools with medians close to that. Two points on the MCAT or a .15 GPA bump would make you more competitive. I would make sure that your EC's are in order and make the decision if you are going to boost gpa, mcat or EC.

ill probably start studying for the April MCAT in mid-november if i dont hear back :/
i thought the few science classes wouldnt hurt to help refresh my memory in the meantime/provide an update to schools if i was invited to interview by January
Depending on your state of residence, and the number of previous applications and MCAT scores, a complete, improved, early MD application is likely to have a better outcome than late "updates."
