I was prepared to go into dental school come this fall but things took a turn for the worse in my life. Now I'm back in the trenches, so to speak. I've already done a master's program and have no intention of doing any more post-bacc stuff. I've got a job lined up as a dental assistant and have been working in a dental lab. I'm wondering what else I should do with this time?

I was thinking about travelling abroad and also working on some of my other hobbies but I feel like maybe I'm not doing enough in terms of looking like a better candidate for dental schools in comparison to students that would apply alongside me during school.

Sounds like you are doing all the right things. Some volunteer work related to dentistry wouldn't hurt. The Dr. you will be working for may already be involved with something that you could possibly help out with.
