Atmospheric pressure is the ambient pressure outside of your container
Gauge pressure is the inside of your container
Absolute pressure = gauge pressure + atm pressure
So for example, say we are at sea level where atmospheric pressure=1atm. You are holding a bike tire with a pressure of 0.5atm. 0.5atm is the gauge pressure, if we take the tire as the frame of reference. Absolute pressure for the bike tire would be 1.5 atm whereas absolute pressure for you (outside the bike tire) is 1atm because there is no gauge pressure.
