Hi,

Gave my part 1 yesterday..Physiology was a bit confusing .Anatomy and Dental anatomy were not that tough.I guess if you are well prepared then ,according to me its not very difficult to answer any section.I was not that prepared in phsio and path and thats why i found them a bit tough.
.If anybody has to ask anything,I will be very happy to answer.

hi

Nice to hear that your share of the burden is over ,hope u do really well.
I want to know how much time do u get to complete each portion and can u jump to previous or next section in order to ans skipped qs . And also if you can through some light on the kind of qs asked ,it will be highly appreciative of u.

THANX

hi

Time is really not a problem .Both the sessions(morning and afternoon)is 3.5 hrs each. You can take any number of breaks as you want in that 3.5 hrs.You can go to any question as you wish. And even get back to previous questions .
I guess each one gets different kinds of questions .
Anatomy:I didnt get much from embryology.Infact just one question abt neural plate.Nothing much from histo too.
Most of it from gross anatomy like br's of arteries, position of structures like what rib is felt at sternal(I dont remeber the question exactly, but it meant this)They just try to confuse you by asking question ina different way .This is true for all subjects.

Phsio & biochem:I got a lot of indirect questions.A couple of questions in dna rna enzymes, most of the questions from endocrine, few from respiratory like what condition you see when there is hypoventilation.Choices were resp alkalosis, acidosis, metabolic acidosis etc.
Not many questions from biochem.

Patho and micro...A few questions abt vaccines like what type of immunity you get if you are given toxoids in dpt vaccine,What type of antibodies are generated when polio vaccine is given to name a few.

Dental anatomy:I found it easiest.Only a few questions that were tough but I think we should expect that in all subjects like glenoid fossa inflences what in a right lateral working movement.
choices were central fossa on rt side, lingual groove/fissure on rt side, lingual groove on left side.
For me Path was toughest and Dental anatomy easiest.

Did you take written or computarized. I also need to take Part I but I do not know which one would be better. Any recommendation?

Thanks, and you should receive a good score do not worry too much!!

Hi,

I took computerised test.I dont think any one should make a difference.Besides, you can take computerised anytime of the year and get your results faster too.Paper based is just twice a year.Good luck to you.

Hi,
Its very difficult to say what to emphasize on and what not to since each one gets different set of questions. But you have plenty of time.Just understand everything well while reading .This is esp important while answering phsio questions. All the best to you.

hey SYK,
Did you get ECE to send a copy of your GPA directly to ADA for the exam application? Is that necessary? If yes, then can we send a copy to ADA ourselves instead of through ADA?
Please help.

Good Luck friend God bless. Now relax and Know that hard work pays off and I am sure you put the effort in to get the best possible grade. Keep positive.

As far as the ECE , you should also have written expressed intent that this was for the exam and you want a copy for yourself and one to go to the ada. Don't worry about GPA when it comes to taking the exam it is just a formality for them to see that you took the classes and have the credentials to take the exam. They are not an acceptance board for any university program.
