Can someone please shine some light on this question

I thought that based on Charle's Law Volume is proportional to Temperature

Therefore I chose choice B (since it states that P is inversely proportional to T, therefore it would be inversely proportional to Volume, hence- Charle's Law)

I don't understand why P is proportional to T and that is the correct answer...

Thank you!

Here's the quick way to determine the relationship between two variables in PV=NRT given that all the other variables are constants.

Example: relationship between P and V, given that other variables are constants. IN PV = NRT, P and V are on the same side of the equation, so they are inversely proportional.

Now, let's look at T and P. T and P are on opposite side of the equation, so they are proportional.

Hawkeye covered it well. I just think of the combined gas laws (PV/nT=PV/nT) but it's all the same. Also, if you think about it, if you raise the temperature of a closed container, the molecules will move faster, meaning more contact with the sides per area, which means more average force etc, etc, higher pressure.

Man, at this rate you should move your exam on August lol.

Haha I think you are doing well! As in you look really motivated to where you can pretty much take the exam mid August as opposed to September, and will still do just as well !

oh..i was confused i thought you meant it in a bad way as if im moving slow..honestly GC was never my strong subject 🙁 so i am spending a lot of time on it planning to do the destroyer second time around soon while im reviewing OC and bio...

how do you know? based on all the q's i ask lol

p.s. i just did an achiever PAT dude...i want to cry :scared::laugh:

Haha, nah. I am not here to talk down on anyone.

I can see your progress throughout your posts. Starting on qvault, finishing chad's videos, and working your way to master PAT.

Oh..stupid me..

then V and T would be proportional as well correct? I guess what I am confused about is that how can T be proportional to V and P at the same time?

yeah well..i really need to do well i dont know if you saw my post earlier in the pre-dent regarding my average gpa and withdrawing from med school so I am trying to do my best here🙂

hows your studying coming along?

Haha, I am about to hit the math and destroyers soon.

I am just trying finish through chad's videos at the moment and Fer. Notes before starting.

After that it will be full of practice problems and reviewing at that point, for a good month and half. lol

destroyer is no fun..but after going through destroyer's GC i did the free qvault and bootcamp tests today..and they felt like a joke lol so if people say that the real test is similar to bootcamp/qvault we should be set (hopefully!)

Haha, yeah. Hopefully. I jumped to boot camp and qvault first exam when i finished reading the biology portion. It wasn't too bad ! Hopefully it stays that way.

Hmm quick question, do you think it would be helpful to go through chas's quizzes again after the destroyers and qvault ? Or would that be just pointless because he only covers the basics?

i am planning to go over them again (not at once but more like a few q's a day just keep the basics fresh it's very easy to overthink q's especially after doing destoryer...)

Yeah, V and T will be proportional given that the other variables are constant.

I would just worry about looking at 2 variables at a time.

For me the destroyer's GC is easy, only missing 4-5 questions/ 30. On the other hand, destroyer's organic chem is destroying me. I'm very weak at organic chem.

Just think of it this way. Since Boyles law says that P and V are inversely proportional and Charles Law says that Volume and Temperature are proportional by the transitive it will make Pressure and temperature proportional as well
