When a list of standard reduction potential E is given, how do I know which half rx get oxidized or reduced? i mean, which one needs to change the sign? thanks

when they give you half reactions with reduction potentials, the highest Ecell number will be the one thats getting reduced...the lowest one flip so its oxidizing and flip the Ecell number and then add them up to get the total Ecell number...

This is the shortest and best explanation right there for ya.
