Gen chem and Orgo strategy

My first post to SDN
I'm in the process of my DAT studies using Destroyer and chads videos, and as I go through the destroyer questions what is the most effective way to approach the gen chem & orgo(3years since taking genchem)
From self evaluation it seems that I have a harder time w/ differentiating what method or equation to apply. Are there any strategic tip or methods. My only solution for now is to go through more practice questions until I figure out patterns in wording

First off, remember that the Destroyer is a learning tool, so you can use it to learn how to do the problems you don't know and then master them! Second, obviously its key to memorize every formula, but in addition to that, when you are reading the question try to understand what is actually happening and that can help you breakdown the question and apply the proper formula.

That's what it's all about in GC. The nice thing about the Destroyer is that it has exposed me to a wide variety of GC problems...I'm sure it will pay big dividends on test day. Just keep going after those problems and you'll get it!
