I am going to a CC in Cali and am transferring to a 4 year in the fall I am a exercise physio major who just recently decided to go premed route.

Would it be a bad decision to take gen chem 1 in the summer session before I transfer then gen Chem 2 and ochem at the university? Or should I wait and take both gen chem at the university?

Depends. You may run into some problems if your CC is semester and your 4year university is on the quarter system.

It won't, I'm going to a csu to save money, the Csu is on a semester system.

No I don't think it would be an issue at all, just make sure the gen chem prof at your CC is a good teacher so you can learn what you need to for chem 2 and the mcat as well. Just do a ratemyprofessor search for the chem teachers at your CC to get an idea how they are and go from there.

I took all my gen chems (lab included) online with UNE..and 5 other pre reqs at a California CC. I had multiple interviews and will be attending Touro in the fall. That said, there were several schools I felt I should have been a shoe-in for an II and it never happened....did my classes have something to do with it? Who knows...but generally, I dont think you have to worry about the CC/online route.

You should be fine, unless they have drastically different schedules of material. You may find that you repeat a lot of material, in which case you would need some extra self-studying for the MCAT. The best way is to compare the syllabi from both courses.

Thank you all, another slightly off topic question is I have taken two allied health chemistry courses since I am still stuck between med and PT. Will these two classes count into my ultimate sGPA when I apply in the upcoming years?

It depends on how they are classified.

If they are "Chem xxx" then yes. If they are "Nursing/Whatever xxx" then no.

It's chem 006 which is intro to general chemistry
And Chem 007 which is intro to organic and biochemistry
