As a long time member of SDN - does it seem to other SDN vets that threads are getting closed and moved way more aggressively than previously? Is this coincidence, or is there a new drive going on here? Not sure how I feel about it...😕😕

Moving to All-Students...

Seems like there's an uptick in this kind of thing in the fall, for the past couple of years anyway, beause of all the newbies coming in from pre-allo. You could be right though, not sure.

or is there a new drive going on here?

Not that I'm aware of... Unless I missed that memo.

What threads have been moved that you don't think should have been?

Its possible that as new forums are added, more gets moved because there is a specific place for such threads (i.e. for sale and wanted adds). Thats the only explanation I have for it.

I am walking on thin ice here, and I am trying to be careful and not turn this into an attack on any specific moderator, hence leaving my post more general in nature - and why I don't want to call out specific threads. It just seems that in the past threads were allowed to run their course a bit more, and threads were not banished to SDN Siberia as often (eg those weird moderater free areas that nobody can ever find like the lounge)

I think that every fall you get a whole new group of pre-meds and MS-Is registering and posting on SDN...so naturally there's an increase in the number of threads that may not have been started in the appropriate forum.

That may explain why it may seem that more threads are being moved.

I would agree, but i think its due to the massive influx of stupid threads, not some sort of mod. uprising.

It seems like some threads are NOT allowed to run their course and others are. I won't get into specifics either, but needless to say, I disagree.
