General Surgery Prog's in Los Angeles

anyone know how the GS residencies in LA are, e.g., ucla, harbor-ucla, usc, cedars-ucla, etc? do you know if the students and residents are happy there? do you know what kind of board scores are needed...im sure they are hard to get into!?

From what I've heard:

UCLA is top-notch. Shouldn't have much problems getting a fellowship if you want one coming out of there. But you'll find out more about this.

UCSD has a rep for being "malignant" (however you want to define that over-used word)

UC-Irvine: honestly you never hear anything good or bad about this program. For some reason nobody seems to ever talk about this program.
