I had a question about kaplan BS-4 genetics passage:

<Basically the passage is about gene therapy. It says adenovirus, unlike retrovirus, will not insert its DNA into the host genome.

The reason adenovirus approach provides transient results is because:
A. Therapeutic DNA is not incorporated into host DNA
B
C
D. Immune system destroyed virus infected cells

I feel like either one could technically be the answer. They had D as the correct answer, which makes sense, but the passage says the DNA isn't incorporated into the host cell genome. Doesn't this mean daughter cells won't benefit affected since the gene won't be replicated. which makes the effect shorter lasting?

Hm not exactly sure what was in the passage (Got a book name/passage number?)

The one thing to think about is how big of an effect does human cell division have on Viral replication if the viral DNA is incorporated into the host DNA. Not much really. The host cell will still create new virus that will go on to infect other cells. On the Other hand actually killing the host cell that the virus is in will have a much bigger effect on viral replication....stopping it.
