Genetics on MCAT

I heard that in recent years genetics has been the major component of the biology section on the MCAT, so I was wondering is it mainly Medelian genetics or molecular genetics that is covered on the MCAT? And what MCAT prep book would did you use to study this?

More molecular than Mendelian... but there was some Mendelian on there. I used TPR. Very detailed, but IMO, very good for getting used to dissect BS passages.

Check this site out...it goes over some very basic genetic concepts, but is incredibly clear with the animations: http://learn.genetics.utah.edu/. I can't seem to find some more advanced stuff like sex-linked traits and pedigrees, but I think it may be on there.

Also, the ppl in the heredity lectures are some of the goofiest looking ppl I've ever seen...that's because they have bad genes!

Yeah but all the needed specific info was in the passage... so dont think you need to know specifics about all these different types of genes
