I wasn't accepted from undergrad so I am figuring out how good the post bacc is before I go. Your friends went to GMU? None of my friends with GPAs of 3.6-3.8 have gotten in to dental school from GMU.

Are you saying people from GMU can't get into dental school?

Admin officers usually say they find most four- year universities about the same...

Also, do you have a ~3.6? If you do, the post-bacc isn't going to help. It'll just be wasted money...

I did not say that. My story is different as I am entering post bacc to raise my GPA. I have 4-5 close friends with 20 DAT and 3.6+ GPA that haven't landed a single interview. Although, I know people that graduated the previous years and have gotten into dental school.

I just want to get feedback before I spend 30K on a post bacc.

It's as legit as any other post- bacc. Only difference to most post-baccs is is that G2 are setting you up (if you want) to finish your master's at Georgetown

Thanks for the help! Do you know from experience or know someone that has gone through it? I'm deciding between G2 and a few other programs and I'm just trying to get why G2 is the best for me. My only concern was that when I sat with an advisor, she diverted answering my questions on students getting into professional school.

Unfortunately, I don't. This is a back up plan for one of my junior, pre-med friends if she doesn't get in this cycle starting June 2017... Have you talked to Jane Rockwood?

I can't meet with her individually which sucks. I have to go to her advising sessions and since I'm not a student there anymore, it doesn't really work with my schedule. Thank you for the help though.

I have experienced the program. It is a great program and a lot of students love it. Faculty care about their numbers, but thats life. Courses are pretty intense and straightforward. The program has a great reputation for helping students improve their Undergraduate GPA for Professional School. It is not a program that will pacify you and soften your GPA. The program has allowed students with higher 3.6 & up GPA's into the program and unfortunately those students go into the program just to take more classes and those students can mess up the bulk of the class for curves and numbers.

Hi all! I just graduated from the GeorgeSquared Advanced Biomedical Sciences program in May 2018. Please feel welcome to post any questions you may have. I would love to share my insight and be as transparent as possible, since I too was in your shoes searching on SDN last year. If you have any academic or formal questions (such as your credentials, application process, deadlines), I recommend that you email the program directly. Otherwise, I can answer away here!

Hi! I was accepted to the George Squared program for the Fall 2018 semester. I just wanted to know if this program is truly worth all the money and how it exactly helps with your undergrad GPA and MCAT scores. Is there a percentage of guarantee that the program offers in helping students get into medical school? I currently have a 3.4 cum GPA and a 3.0 science GPA, and I don't have a MCAT score yet. please help me with any information that you may have! I am very confused and do not want to drop almost $40,000 on a program that will not be helpful to me.

I did the program last year. You can DM me and I’ll answer any questions regarding the program. I’m applying in the upcoming cycle but they do have successful students that get into Med school every year. Kaplan MCAT course is there for you to use, which will definitely help you prepare for the exam as long as you can keep up with your class work. Nothing is “guaranteed” but the average GPA of students that graduate is like a 3.5. If you put all your focus into the classes, you will be able to get close to a 4.0 especially because of their great support system with TAs.

were you able to do any extra curricular such as part timejob or volunteer while you were in the program? Also, how most students pay for the program? loans? The program is quite expensive..🙁

All post bacc of this nature are the same price if not more expensive. I found G2 being the cheaper option for me since I lived home. Federal loans will cover tuition if you are eligible for that. As far as Jobs go, I knew people that were able to balance work with school but it’s extremely risky since you come to the program to boost your GPA. I guess you can work, but no one advises it becuse this is your last chance and you don’t want to mess it up. Volunteer programs will be set up through out the year that you can participate in. This past year, we did a 5 day trip to Houston, Texas to help with the hurricane Harvey disasters.

Hello! I am interested in the program. Does the program only start in Fall semesters? And when can I start applying?

Orientation is literally the 22nd of August. I don't know if they are still accepting people or if the application is even up but you should probably call them, if you want to matriculate this upcoming fall.

Hi I would like to DM you about the program, however, your profile has restrictions that prevent me from DM-ing you 🙁
