Greetings,

I am planning on applying to a MS in Biostatistics in the Washington D.C. area for next fall and was wondering if anybody here can give me any pointers/advice on which school would be better for this specific program, George Washington U. or Georgetown? Unfortunately, I have not been able to find too much discussion about the biostatistics programs at these schools and I would like to know about their relative strengths and weaknesses.

I am going on the assumption that both GWU and Gtown are going to be relatively equal in terms of my chances of getting in so my main criteria for deciding will be job opportunities afterwards and which school will open most doors.

What do you guys think?

Looking forward to hearing any opinions/advice/experiences regarding these schools.

Thank you in advance for your time and help.

To clarify are you aiming to eventually apply to allopathic medical school or is your plan to get MS and then go start working? (these are pre-MD forums)

biostats is seriously hard af. If you are planning this as a chill-ish gap year or something to boost your app, then please look elsewhere, bc biostats masters fits neither of those bills. Seriously i would rather be in a coma then have to do biostats for two years.
Maybe you truly love math though, idk.

Hi, firstly thank you for your replies.

Secondly, just to clarify I am not in medical school or pre-med. I realise that these are pre-med/med forums but I have seen other threads/posts about this topic here so I thought it's cool to ask for an opinion. My goal is to get into a biostatistics master and then get a job in that field. I come from an Economics background, I have completed pre-requisites in Calculus I, II, III, Statistics, Econometrics and Linear Algebra so I'm fine with the math.

If anybody is or has been in a similar situation and can give me some advice on this, specifically on which school is better in terms of jobs prospects post-graduation, between GWU and Georgetown, I would appreciate it.

Thank you again.
