I have an interview at Georgetown coming up and I need some advice from others who have interviewed there (and other DC natives) to answer some questions that I have:

1. What's the best way to get from Reagan airport to my hotel in Alexandria? Metro? Cab? Remember, I'm coming in late, around 11 pm so please keep that in mind when making suggestions.

2. Best way to get from Alexandria to Georgetown for the interview? If I take a cab, how much should it cost and how long would it take. I really don't want to be late.

3. What's the best way to get from Georgetown to Reagan Airport? I have a pretty tight schedule on the other end, my interview day ends at 3 or 3:30 and my flight is at 6 pm. Is that enough time, or should I try to reschedule the flight?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i have interview there few weeks ago, and i can offer some advise.

i actually arrived around midnight as well, and only available transportation that late would be a cab from the DCA (Reagan). it's not too bad, costs something like 15 bucks to Gtown Holiday Inn (about 4 blocks or so from medschool).

I don't know where Alexandria is, but i definately would take the cab. it isn't that expensive at DC and it is probably the fastest and most reliable.

but if for your return flight, maybe you can take the subway like i did, though you have to get to the station first via cab (or maybe there is a shuttle at Gtown, but i didn't think there was one). i met a friend in downtown so i first took a cab there, and that was like about 10 bucks, and took the subway for less than 5 bucks to the airport (which, by the way, takes you right in front of the airport).

hope that helps.

1. you should probably take a cab from reagan to alexandria.

2. alexandria's a little far from gtown. if you can, you may want to try to move your hotel to rosslyn...it's right across the key bridge and about 10-15 min away from gtown. if you can't, alexandria's probably a good 30 minutes from gtown.

3. you'll definitely be able to make your flight. you can get a cab right outside of the leavey conference center on gtown's campus. it's right outside of the med school.

imo, if you have the money, just cab the whole day. less hassle...

good luck!
