Hey guys,
I was just accepted into both of these programs, and I was wondering what would be a better choice for someone who has mediocre GPA and decent MCAT. I'm having a hard time choosing because I'm not sure which one would help me more.
Both have good names, but the Georgetown SMP rates as 60% of their students getting in to med school right out of the program (more afterward), and good relations with local schools in the area.
Case doesn't promise anything linkage-wise, and is brand new, with other AdComs not knowing anything about it. However the Case admissions committee are heavily involved with the program, you get good 1to1 teaching opps, and research experience. Also, the smaller class size (~35) leads me to believe that this COULD (basically a pretense) be something more along the lines of EVMS's absorption of their SMP students (despite being an MA with no real medical school classes).
I really have no way to tell, and my state school admissions committees and some other committees have told me to pick "what's right for me." I just want to choose the more sure thing.
For those who were accepted into either, and had to make a decision, what did your decision hinge upon?
Is someone in my boat in need of something that shows that "I should be in Medical school" (Georgetown) or "I've been trained to be ready for Medical School" (Case).
I really appreciate all your help! Thanks!
