Only two kinds of people get accepted during their SMP year: People who already had the stats to apply and people who get accepted to the linked school (in this case Georgetown).
In my class there were several people who had interviews at multiple schools during their SMP year. The reason they hadn't been accepted previously is either because their MCAT was too low, their ECs were previously poor, or their school list was not broad enough. Those people didn't need to go to an SMP in the first place.
The people who get accepted to Georgetown the same year generally have 3.5+ in the SMP by now, have demonstrated positive social relationships, and have some involvement with the school doing research or volunteering. The rest of their app including ECs and MCAT has to be good as well (usually 510+).
Georgetown usually starts sending interview invites around this time to SMP students and they will start sending out acceptances and waitlists in April. Admissions can roll through June and I've even seen them happen right up until class starts.
