Hey everyone, please help me decide....Georgetwon or Rochester?!?!
I am having the worst time deciding on my own. I loved both schools, but am especially drawn to Georgetown's location and Rochester's curriculum. I want to be in an urban area, but don't know if that desire outweighs the overall education at Rochester, and I'm somewhat worried about Georgetown's financial problems....Please help! Also, does anyone know anything about their residency matches? I'm going crazy trying to make this decision.... 😕

Please somebody, help me!

Rochester with out a question. Gtown is over rated. Have read any of the recent articles in the Wash Post or the Washingtonian about Gtown?Gtown has ticked off most of the community drs and only 10-20 docs refer to Gtown right now. Also, they are known for pt dumping to other hospitals. Also, for what it is worth the Gourman report rates Rochester higher (take that with a grain of salt) Rochester is sound clinicaly and has great research. I have worked with some fabulous reasearchers and docs from Rochester. The only thing is DC is a better place to live than Rochester. Your head will always be in a book so i do not know how much that matters. Good LUCK!!

Also, I believe Rochester places a little better than Gtown. Gtown is on par with GWU and Osu for the match. I believe roughly 50% get their first choice. Also, it is the individual not the inst. A great board score and honoring your rotations will allow you to right your ticket anywhere. Go where you can be comfortable and do well. I am married and have 2 kids, so I applied MD and DO based on where I had family. I got into 4 schools and I am wait listed at GW, but I declined 2 do and 1 MD because I got into CCOM in Chiacgo. Chicago and Dc are where I have the most family.I declined the MD school in OHio because it was not close enough to family. It is all relative to your situation.Go where you are comfortable. I hope that helps. ---Good Luck!!!
