Hello All,
I'm curious to know if the following schools be willing to take CC courses outside of biochem and upper level BIO/Chem courses?

1. GA-PCOM
2. Emory
3. Mercer

I've spoken with MCG and admission rep said that it does not matter. I know the debate of CC vs 4-yr, but just wondering if anyone has gotten in those schools taking majority of CC pre-reqs.

Thanks!

all 3 of those colleges you have named seem to be community colleges.
the only difference is that at emory, you will pay more to take the class; however, you do get the smugness and delusion of grandeur that comes with emory

Mercer is not a community college.

Email the admissions staff and ask. Mary Putnam is really nice, and I'm sure she'd be glad to answer your question.

They are not "community colleges." The below link will educate you.

Mercer Univeristy (has allopathic medical school) - http://www2.mercer.edu/default.htm
Emory University (has allopathic medical school) - http://www.emory.edu/home/index.html
GA-PCOM is an osteopathic school - http://www.pcom.edu/General_Information/georgia/georgia.html

the op is obviously talking about undergrad schools, not their medical schools😴

Community colleges are two-year schools. None of these are two-year schools, and Mercer and Emory, are in fact, both private schools, which immediately disqualifies them from being "community colleges." I would honestly inquire whether or not community college pre-reqs are acceptable. It is a valid question considering the OP is thinking about applying to three, very different, private medical schools.

Just ignore this "waytooez" person, s/he's a troll who has littered SDN with anti-Emory posts. Probably a little bitter after getting rejected.

Your best bet is to give each of those schools a call (or email) and see what they say. It will probably be more accurate than anyone of us can be.

I know what type of schools they are. I was asking if all 3 MEDICAL schools accepts community college credits.

Thanks!

We figured you knew, but we (me), unfortunately fed the troll before realizing said poster was a troll. Glad to try to help!
