"Seeing a portion of food served on a large plate as being smaller than the same portion of food served on a small plate," could this be principle of Closure? I'm having trouble figuring out this one...

No. That's the Ebbinghaus illusion.

Closure is when your brain perceives an incomplete shape/form as complete based on the pattern of the parts.

E.g.,


This panda is incomplete (no line representing top of head or back), but we "connect the dots" in our minds to form a complete picture of the panda.
